The fighter jet caused a stir in Selb (Upper Franconia) on Monday morning, as reported by

Accordingly, the Eurofighter flew low over the region.
"It was a low-level training flight," said a spokesman for the Bundeswehr Aviation Office to the portal.
According to this, the Eurofighter flew at around 9:37 a.m. at a height of around 215 meters over Selb and the surrounding area.

In general, such low-level military flights are allowed everywhere in Germany – but only up to a height of 1000 feet (around 300 meters), as the spokesman
explained to
nordbayern.de .
"If flying formations register exercises via the Ministry of Defence, this can be reduced" - which also happened in the current case.
The jet could have flown even lower, because the registration was valid up to a height of 150 meters.

The spokesman did not explain exactly what was being trained with the practice flight over Selb.
All he said was that it was a routine flight.
This is "quite normal" during pilot training.
These days, people in Bavaria could see fighter jets in the sky more often.
The reason was the G7 summit in Elmau.
Since high-ranking heads of state were guests in Bavaria, additional protection and escort flights were necessary.
