What may seem gross at first glance is very effective: since fingernails give off nitrogen, they are the perfect fertilizer.

Munich – why look far away when the solution for blooming and healthy beds is literally obvious?

Fingernails have proven to be an effective fertilizer for almost all plants.

You should consider the following tips if you want to fertilize your bed inexpensively.

Egg shells, coffee grounds, beer and even urine - the list of organic fertilizers or household fertilizers is endless.

The advantages of these varieties are obvious: the home remedies are inexpensive, do not harm people or the earth, and you can usually see more precisely where they come from.

After your next manicure or pedicure, you should never dispose of your nails in the trash because they have the following effects on the floor:

  • Since nitrogen is required for the development of vegetable protein and fingernails - similar to horn shavings - release nitrogen, the nails prove to be an effective fertilizer.

  • The advantage over chemical fertilizers is that the nitrogen from fingernails is released only slowly.

  • How do you fertilize with your nails?

Gather fingernails and spread them over the top layer of soil.

It is a good idea to bury them in the bed, not only because the nails don't look particularly aesthetic, but also because the soil can absorb the nitrogen better that way.

  • After the household fertilizer has been distributed, the area should be watered thoroughly so that the nutrients are dissolved more quickly.

Caution: You should not use fingernails on which paint residues can be found for fertilizing.

Basically, you can make all plants and vegetables like tomatoes happy with the fertilizer.

Houseplants and potted plants are less suitable because there are fewer organisms to decompose in their soil.
