Buses transporting passengers between the cities of Crimea on the one hand and Kherson, Melitopol and Berdyansk provinces on the other have returned to work for the first time in 8 years, according to Russian media.
Nikolai Lukashenko, acting Minister of Transport of the Republic of Crimea, was quoted by RIA Novosti news agency as telling reporters at a bus stop in Simferopol, where the first flight to Kherson took off: “This is a historic event.. for the first time in eight years we have the first bus to Kherson.. Earlier, the President of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksionov, announced that the buses will carry out multiple daily trips between Simferopol and Kherson, as well as between Simferopol and Melitopol and between Simferopol and Berdyansk.. The buses will transport passengers to the border between the peninsula and the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, indicating that after completing the necessary transactions at the border, they will ride on local buses.
