July 1, 25th Anniversary of China's Return

Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policy Heng Swee Keat sent a congratulatory letter to the new Hong Kong Chief Executive Li Jiachao, expressing his warmest congratulations on the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China and the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Wang Ruijie said,


Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policy Heng Swee Keat sent a congratulatory letter to the new Hong Kong Chief Executive Li Jiachao, expressing his warmest congratulations on the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China and the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.


Heng said he has no doubt that under the leadership of Li Jiachao as chief executive and the continued strong support of the central government, Hong Kong will continue to enjoy tranquility, stability and prosperity under the guiding framework of "One Country, Two Systems".

Heng Swee Keat also stated that Singapore looks forward to continuing to develop its partnership with Hong Kong under the leadership of Li Jiachao for the mutual benefit of the two peoples.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong congratulates Hong Kong on the 25th anniversary of its return to China


On behalf of the Singaporean government, I would like to express my warmest congratulations to you on the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China and the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.


Hong Kong has long demonstrated a spirit of entrepreneurship and innovation, and Hong Kong is also known for its perseverance in the face of adversity.

We have seen over the past 25 years, time and time again, Hong Kong has overcome the challenges ahead and emerged stronger and more resilient.

I have no doubt that under your leadership as Chief Executive and with the continued strong support of the Central Government, Hong Kong will continue to enjoy tranquility, stability and prosperity under the guiding framework of "One Country, Two Systems". 


On the basis of high-level exchanges, strong economic ties and close people-to-people ties, Singapore and Hong Kong have good relations and multi-faceted cooperation.

Singapore looks forward to continuing to develop its partnership with Hong Kong under your leadership, including in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Belt and Road Initiative, for the mutual benefit of our people.
