The elected opposition representative from Savigny-sur-Orge believes that he has elements to have the tight ballots canceled in the 5th and 7th constituencies

He made the suspense last until the end.

This Thursday, Olivier Vagneux, elected opposition member in Savigny-sur-Orge, is filing two appeals with the Constitutional Council against the legislative elections in Essonne.

“I filed two electoral protests against the voting operations in the 2022 legislative elections in the 5th and 7th constituency of Essonne”, announces the one who succeeded in having the municipal elections of the town where he sits canceled.

To contest an election, you must be a candidate or voter and lodge your appeal no later than ten days after the ballot.

In this case, Olivier Vagneux was both in the 7th, where the outgoing deputy (ex-LR passed in the presidential majority) Robin Reda was re-elected.

The latter beat his rival (Nupes) Claire Lejeune by 214 votes.

“I found 409 disputed signatures, details Olivier Vagneux.

Of which 209 are really different from the first round, and it is not a question of power of attorney or elector who would have signed under their maiden name then under their marital name.

“Discordant signatures”

The appeals specialist also submits to the Constitutional Council what he considers to be "manoeuvres" that may have had an influence on the ballot, such as Robin Reda's use of the Republicans logo on his deputy website when he decided to run for the Macronist coalition Together.

“There is also a leaflet distributed by Alexis Teillet (

Editor’s note: the LR mayor of Savigny-sur-Orge

) which poses a problem for me”, he indicates.

But on the 5th?

Olivier Vagneux is neither a candidate nor a voter in this constituency, delighted with the ex-walker Cédric Villani who passed to Nupes by the Macronist candidate Paul Midy.

The latter became a deputy thanks to 19 more votes.

“For this constituency, I am mandated by a client”, specifies Olivier Vagneux, who had offered his services to the two candidates who narrowly lost the elections in Essonne, Claire Lejeune and Cédric Villani.

But the latter declined and did not initiate an appeal according to our information.

Olivier Vagneux bet in the 5th on ballots wrongly considered, according to him, as invalid, and on 34 "discordant signatures" in the attendance lists.

"The Constitutional Council has indeed accused reading of protest", he concludes.
