Opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu spoke today (Friday) with Prime Minister Yair Lapid - for the first time since taking office.
The Likud party said in a statement that it had proposed that the security update, which is carried out legally between the prime minister and the opposition leader, be carried out by the military secretary "to prevent the security update from becoming a political tool during elections."
He added that Netanyahu wished the prime minister "that the next four months will be a period of security calm."
Lapid, on the other hand, said that he spoke with the chairman of the opposition, who congratulated him on his inauguration.
