Sales of new cars fell again by 14% in May in France, the thirteenth consecutive month of decline in a market paralyzed by the shortage of electronic chips, according to figures published Friday by the Automotive Platform.

The sector recorded 171,089 passenger car registrations in June, down 14.24% year on year.
Over the first six months of 2022, the market fell by 16.34% with 771,982 registrations.
