Ready for sporting success: Mayor Edwin Klostermeier (from right) handed over the sports facility to Peter Ortmeier and Patrick Krause from PSV and presented them with a bowl of turf.
"They have to be maintained just like the kick-places," said the head of the town hall.

The pitches are in great condition, now it's up to the footballers.
Putzbrunner SV wants to celebrate successes on the renovated sports grounds.

- First the tennis courts, then the beach volleyball court and now the new soccer fields.
"The sports area at Florianseck is in good shape again," said Mayor Edwin Klostermeier (SPD), when he "handed over" the site to Putzbrunner SV (PSV) after the renovation.
Instead of a key, as with the handover of residential projects, he presented the club chairman Peter Ortmeier and Patrick Krause, the deputy head of the soccer department, with a bowl each containing the new turf.
Building yard manager Benedikt Daberger and his colleague Josef Daxner cut it out and lovingly planted it in the farthest corner of the three renovated sports fields.
"The bowls have to be looked after just like the kick pitches, otherwise the grass will die," said Klostermeier with a smile.
For years, the approximately 360 PSV kickers - divided into two men's, two seniors and seven youth teams - had complained about the poor condition of the two pitches and one of the training grounds.
"There were a lot of holes in it, we had a big vole problem, which rummaged through and ate the grass roots," said PSV board member Ortmeier.
Complete season on artificial grass pitch
A few years ago, a vole barrier in the form of vertical metal plates was installed around the 18,500 square meter area to prevent new rodents from outside.
The club then applied for the lawn to be completely replaced.
To do this, the top layer was completely removed to a depth of around 30 centimeters, and a new layer of gravel and sand and a thick layer of humus were introduced.
The work began in September 2021, the special lawn was sown before autumn, and it grew quickly.
However, the excessively wet winter weather initially prevented further work, so that all footballers had to switch to the artificial turf pitch for the entire 2021/2022 season.
All three courts can now be played on, and the municipality has taken on 80,000 euros of the total costs of around 90,000 euros.
"It is always important to us as a community that we support the local clubs, especially of course the PSV, the largest club in the area with 1,600 members," said Klostermeier.
Club boss Ortmeier thanked the community for their support, “The pitches are not only used by footballers, but also by volleyball players and track and field athletes.
Everyone is enthusiastic about the new lawn.”
So does soccer vice Krause: "We won't be having an official inauguration game or party, but we're firmly assuming that the first team will be able to move up to the district league on this great place in the coming season."
