The reporter saw at the scene this afternoon that the cable bridge that was originally broken in the shape of a "V" was sawed into two sections and laid flat in the open channel. The bottom of the bridge was immersed in water. Equipped with brackets for support.

In addition, the dredgers and boom trucks that had entered the open channel to carry out the works had already driven away, and many tools, including iron frames and iron horses, were also immersed in the water at the scene.

"Hong Kong 01" is making enquiries to CLP and Drainage Services Department.

Severe tropical storm "Siamba" approached Hong Kong, causing squally showers in many districts, among which 3 to 20 millimetres of rainfall was recorded in Yuen Long from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm.

The Amber Rainstorm Warning Signal was issued at 3:15 pm and cancelled at 5:15 pm.

The Observatory then reissued the No. 8 Southeast Gale or Storm Signal at 7:10 p.m. and is expected to remain until 5:00 a.m. tomorrow.

Power outage|Dredgers and cranes are dispatched to prepare for the removal of the cable bridge. The power outage is expected to be completed within a week.

The Drainage Services Department said earlier that the department had negotiated with CLP on the clearing of the cable bridge. It also pointed out that the main nullah in Yuen Long was the main waterway. In order to avoid blocking the waterway, it was necessary for CLP to clean up the cable bridge. If the weather permits, CLP plans to clear the cable bridge within a week. The DSD will closely monitor the weather conditions and the drainage situation of the Yuen Long Nullah.
