Horror in Ukraine
: 18 civilians were killed this morning (Friday) in a Russian missile attack on the country's third largest city, Odessa, on the shores of the Black Sea.
According to state reports, cruise missiles hit a nine-story residential building and a resort complex in the city.
Photos and videos released by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense show enormous damage to the residential building along with attempts by rescue crews to reach the injured and trapped in the building.
Local media in the city claimed that at least 31 people were injured, with children among the dead and wounded.
In addition, it was claimed that no military targets were known near the site that was attacked.
The attack comes after more than 20 people were killed earlier this week when a Russian missile hit a crowded shopping complex in the central Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk.
According to military experts, the missiles used by Russia are Soviet-made and have a primitive guidance system, which causes great damage to civilian targets.

The choice to attack in southern Ukraine comes after yesterday the Russian army was forced to withdraw from Snake May located south of the shores of Odessa in the Black Sea.
After another riot by the Ukrainian army over Russian forces on the island.
The report was confirmed by the Russian regime, which issued a statement quoting the Ria Novosti news agency as saying that Russian forces on the island had "completed their mission" and that the withdrawal was carried out as a "gesture of goodwill".
The Ukrainian side claimed that the Russians withdrew from the island after discovering that it was almost within range of the Ukrainian artillery, after the United States and NATO countries handed over long-range artillery to the Ukrainians, who used it and managed to hit the Russian military air defense systems on the island.
