The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Chan Kwok-kee, who was sworn in this morning, inspected the Emergency Monitoring and Support Centre at the Security Bureau in the evening, and listened to relevant departments' reports on the latest situation of Siamba and the overall deployment of the centre.

He praised the emergency monitoring and assistance center for its professional and efficient spirit, safeguarding citizens' lives and property, and ensuring the safe and orderly operation of the market, and expressed his heartfelt thanks.

Chen Guoji said on his Facebook page that the Emergency Monitoring and Support Center at the Security Bureau has been activated, responsible for coordinating and monitoring the emergency work of various departments, and pointed out that the support center is very important to protect the lives of citizens during the typhoon hitting Hong Kong.

He inspected the emergency monitoring and assistance center in the evening, and listened to his colleagues' reports on the latest situation of Siamba and the center's overall deployment, including closely monitoring the situation in various districts through the "joint operation platform" developed by the Civil Engineering and Development Department, so that the center can quickly conduct risk assessment and take countermeasures.

He expressed his gratitude to the civil servants and staff of other organizations who kept their posts under the bad weather.
