Trump particularly focused on a part of the statement that Hutchinson actually only described, citing a conversation with a colleague and the responsible Secret Service official.

The former president apparently wanted to be present at the actions at the Capitol.

After speaking to his supporters, Hutchinson said he got into his car.

He was then told he could not now join his supporters who were flocking to the Capitol, Hutchinson said.
