(ANSA) - L'AQUILA, 01 JUL - A concrete measure to combat the wild boar emergency in Abruzzo, whose massive presence continues to cause serious damage to crops and serious dangers to motorists: the Regional Council has approved the new regulations for the selection hunting wild boar "fundamental tool for the containment of the wild boar population and to limit the problems on the regional weapon.
This was announced by the vice president of the regional council with delegation to agriculture, Emanuele Imprudente.

it is mainly carried out during the hottest seasons and in agricultural areas where the work is in danger or already damaged by the removal of the wild boar carried out during the day.
"It is very important for us that ISPRA has given its positive opinion to all our proposals - concludes Imprudente - allowing the activation of modalities, certainly not resolving the problem of wild boar overpopulation, but which we consider more effective".
The carrying out of the selective sampling (selection hunting) of the wild boar is carried out by the so-called selechunter (or selecontroller) who have obtained the necessary qualification, following specific training courses including differentiated shooting or shooting tests.
