Prince Charles is apparently looking forward to meeting his granddaughter Lilibet in person for the first time.

A few weeks ago, Harry and Meghan's daughter visited England for the first time.

A unique opportunity that her grandfather did not miss.

London – Many grandparents get to know their grandchildren shortly after birth, but in royal circles it can take longer.

Prince Charles (73) had to prove his patience last year.

It was only a year after the birth of little Lilibet Diana (1) that he was able to hug his granddaughter.

Prince Charles had to wait a long time for Harry and Meghan's return

A spontaneous short visit to Prince Harry (37) and his family is out of the question for Prince Charles, the distances between son and father are too great.

The British heir to the throne would have to take a flight lasting several hours and be thousands of kilometers behind.

While Charles lives in London with his wife Camilla (74), Harry and Meghan (40) have settled in Montecito, California.

The former senior royals are rarely seen in England, their first trip to Europe as a family of four was only a few weeks ago.

For the big celebration of Queen Elizabeth II's 70th jubilee, the Sussexes flew to London in early June, where Charles was able to meet grandson Archie (3) again after two years and granddaughter Lili for the first time.

Prince Charles enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren to the fullest

Prince Charles, who is said to have longed to see Harry's family again for a long time, was probably overwhelmed by his feelings during the special encounter.

"The prince obviously hasn't seen his grandson Archie for a while so it was very, very, very special to spend some time with him.

He hadn't met Lili, his granddaughter, so it was very emotional to meet her, a very, very wonderful thing

," an anonymous palace source confided to

The

Sun.

It is not known when and where exactly the rare family reunion took place.

Harry and Meghan stayed at their old home, Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.

During the jubilee, daughter Lilibet was also able to meet her namesake Queen Elizabeth personally.
