55 artworks using wood burning and engraving techniques were presented by artist Raydan El Sehnaoui in his solo exhibition, which opened this evening in

Hall of the Arab Cultural Center in the town of Sweida.

The exhibition, which continues until the sixth of this month, has a variety of business topics between man, nature and the philosophy of life, with purposeful contents bearing the values of love, goodness and peace.

Al-Sehnawy said in a statement to SANA that the technique of burning and engraving on wood attracted him because it requires accuracy, skill and focus, and he enjoys working with it and the smell of wood that gives him a feeling of warmth, indicating that he chose simplicity in his work to inspire hope and a sense of the beauty of nature and to impart positive energies.

The head of the Cultural Center in Shaqqa, Salman Zahr El-Din, indicated in a similar statement that the presented works touch the depths of the artist, with his inner revelations that reflect the secrets of his soul, with the distinction of his exhibition by presenting things related to the human spirit, his presence in this universe, his roots and his connection to the earth.

The director of the Shahba Plastic Assembly, artist Hamid Nofal, drew attention to the heat of the material in which he worked and the heat of the artistic feeling of the Sehnaoui artist, resulting in the birth of a plastic work with its realistic formulation that was domesticated to the eye of the recipient, as if he was diving into the texture of the wooden plank digging like a search for something in his mind on this surface, and after removal the form that expresses his imagination and visions appears.

The plastic artist Khaled Al-Rafie stated that the artist Al-Sahnawy was unique in holding exhibitions related to burning and engraving on wood, and was distinguished by showing volume and adding colors with burning as a new phenomenon that drew attention to him.

The two visitors to the exhibition, Issam Al-Harfoush and Youssef Amer, drew attention to the aesthetics of the presented works and the creative aspects they carried, stressing the importance of continuing his experience in this field and always developing it for the better.

Al-Sehnawy previously presented two solo exhibitions during the past two years in the two cultural centers in the cities of Shahba and Sweida, in addition to two joint exhibitions with the Shahba Fine Assembly.
