The Lebanese Army Command announced that a soldier was wounded today during an attempt to attack an army center in Tripoli, northern Lebanon.
The army command said in a statement, "A person tried to storm an army center in the Rifa area of Tripoli, carrying a knife and a bag, and when a guard came to stop him, he stabbed him several times in different parts of his body, while another element shot the attacker, killing him."
The command indicated that the wounded soldier was transferred to a hospital in the region for treatment and his health condition is stable, while the bag is being examined by an explosives expert, and an investigation was launched under the supervision of the competent judiciary to uncover the circumstances of the accident.
