Corona rules in Bavaria: No FFP2 mask requirement in public transport
FFP2 masks are no longer compulsory in local public transport in Bavaria.
Only a medical mask is required.
The new regulation went into effect at midnight.
"The mask requirement in public transport remains in place because it is important as protection in view of the current infection rate," explained Health Minister Klaus Holetschek (CSU).
But now everyone can “decide according to their own assessment and risk assessment whether to wear a surgical mask instead of an FFP2 mask”.

"We are thus relying more on the personal responsibility of the citizens," said Holetschek.
"In the hot summer months, as we are now experiencing them, and under the current pandemic conditions, we consider this to be proportionate." The cabinet had decided on the corresponding change to the Corona Ordinance on Tuesday.
