Significant material damage to the irrigation and electricity networks and to the agricultural and private properties of citizens caused by the Israeli aggression that targeted the Hamidiya area, south of Tartus, at dawn today, injuring two civilians.
SANA’s camera toured the villages that were affected by the aggression and monitored the extent of the damage left by the aggression. The director of water resources in the governorate, Engineer Muhammad Mahrez, told SANA that “the aggression targeted three irrigation channels, which led to the cracking of concrete and siphons in the village of al-Qubaiba, which led to damages with a length of 500 meters in addition to This resulted in damage to an asbestos line with a length of 500 meters, with the destruction of the irrigation fence in the village of Al-Jamasa, and the damage to the irrigation line in the Ramah Laha area, with a diameter of 250 mm asbestos completely.”
Mehrez added that "the aggression led to the deprivation of farmers from irrigating their lands, as the area irrigated by the three canals is approximately 100 hectares," stressing that "the technical workshops immediately began the rehabilitation and repair of the damaged canals as a result of this brutal aggression to deliver water to the farmers' lands, while the damages are estimated at about 50 million Syrian pounds.”
In turn, the Director General of Tartous Electricity Company, Engineer Abdel Hamid Mansour, indicated in a similar statement that “great damage was caused to the electrical network, tension poles and electricity transmission lines,” adding that “the company’s workshops immediately went to the three targeted places to inspect the damage and began re-erecting new towers and extending networks. other networks instead of the affected networks.”
Ali Rahmoun, a resident of the village of al-Qubaiba, who suffered a broken leg and bruised body, spoke about the great damage to his agricultural land and the five greenhouses in it, in addition to the damage to the roof of the agricultural room of his field, and stressed that “the attempts of the enemy entity will not affect the determination and steadfastness of the Syrian people.” His son Ghadeer explained that “their agricultural land with an area of 3 and a half dunams and the five greenhouses planted with the eggplant crop are the only source of livelihood for the family, especially since the crop is in its infancy and has not yet yielded its fruits.”
Hassan Sobh, from the same village, said: The aggression that targeted his house damaged two wells he owned and two water submersibles in them, in addition to damaging the roof and walls of his house and some of the furniture in it.
Alaa Ibrahim is a resident of the village of Al-Jamasa and supervises two farms in the village. He explained that his personal loss from the aggression is 52 heads of sheep and two heads of cows, in addition to the agricultural equipment of his land, which is his only source of livelihood, pointing to some damage to the corn and pistachio crops and the slices of greenhouses to his neighbors who are residents of the village.
The Israeli enemy carried out an air aggression with several missiles from over the Mediterranean, west of Tripoli, targeting several poultry farms in the vicinity of the town of Hamidiya, south of Tartus, injuring two civilians, one of whom was a woman, and causing material losses.
