Towards the end of the week the weather in Bavaria becomes uncomfortable.
Partly heavy rain is expected - the DWD warns of the risk of severe weather.

Update from July 1st, 3 p.m.:
In Bavaria it got significantly cooler this afternoon.
According to the German Weather Service, this is due to a cold front that is currently moving eastwards across the Free State.
From the evening, however, a high pressure area should slowly prevail, but it can still rain occasionally, thunderstorms are still possible at the edge of the Alps.
But the weekend should be nice in Bavaria.
Bright sunshine with only a few clouds and temperatures between 25 and 30 degrees awaits people in the Free State.
On Monday, however, it should be much fresher again and rain in some areas.
After heavy thunderstorms in Bavaria: chapels under water – hail flyers in action
Update from July 1, 12:38 p.m
.: In the violent storms on Thursday evening over Bavaria, some extreme hailstorms also caused damage.
In the district of Rosenheim, hail flyers were used to vaccinate the thunderstorm cell and thus successfully prevent heavy hail.
A heavy hailstorm fell over Oberau – in the middle of summer, the hail transformed the streets into a white winter landscape.

.: After the extreme rainfall in Oberstdorf, Oberallgäu district, the Loretto chapels were also under water during Thursday evening.
According to the SZ, the church cannot yet give you any information on the amount of the damage.

Severe storm in Bavaria: numerous damages in the south of the Free State
Update from June 30, 8:13 p.m .:
A storm with thunderstorms, heavy rain and hail swept across the south of Bavaria on Thursday evening.
In Kempten, a lightning strike shut down the railway signal box, and the trains were temporarily stationary on the route to Kaufering.
In Oberstdorf there were mudslides, several roads were blocked by debris and water, and the cellars and stables were full of water.

A spokesman for the police headquarters in Swabia South/West reported on operations in the Oberstaufen, Immenstadt and Sonthofen areas.
In the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the fire brigade had to move out to a total of 47 missions on Thursday evening.
A spokesman for the Oberland integrated control center said that hail had destroyed skylights and water had entered the discounter Aldi in Oberau.
The federal highway 2 was briefly impassable in Oberau.
Cellars were flooded.
There were two storm operations in the Bad Tölz district.
The German Weather Service had warned of extreme thunderstorms for the region and declared the highest warning level.
Up to 6 p.m. there was a threat of flooding, hail and lightning at the edge of the Alps in the Allgäu towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
Highest storm warning level in Bavaria: DWD warns of "extremely heavy rain" and severe thunderstorms
Update from June 30, 4:20 p.m .:
The German weather service currently has warning level 4 for the south of Bavaria.
It is the highest of the four possible severe weather warning levels.
This goes hand in hand with the warning of "severe thunderstorms with extremely heavy rain and hail".
The weather experts forecast for the afternoon "amounts of precipitation over 45 l/m² per hour and heavy gusts of wind with speeds of around 100 km/h" for the southernmost districts of Bavaria around Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Oberallgäu.
For the rest of the south and west of Bavaria, there is currently preliminary information about severe weather, which warns of strong thunderstorms in the course of the evening.
According to the DWD, there is extremely heavy rain in southern Bavaria.
The highest severe weather warning level applies.

Massive rain front rolls towards Bavaria: advance warning for the south and west of Bavaria
Update from June 30, 10:45 a.m .:
Storms with heavy rain in Bavaria are also threatening this afternoon.
At the DWD there is a corresponding "pre-warning for the west and south" of the Free State.
On Friday night, thunderstorms coming from the west are also possible in the other regions, including isolated heavy gusts of wind, according to the German Weather Service.
Local heavy rain is also to be expected on Friday night, regardless of thunderstorms.

The weather situation has slowly calmed down again.
The severe weather warnings have been lifted, but new adversity threatens by Friday at the latest.

The German Weather Service (DWD) has issued a first severe weather warning in Bavaria.
According to the DWD, there are "locally severe thunderstorms" in Lower Franconia.
Warning level 3, the second highest, applies to the affected region.
Weather in Bavaria: Heavy rain and risk of severe weather
First report from June 29th:
Munich – The weather remains unstable and can also be extremely changeable within Bavaria.
It was only at the beginning of the week that there were high summer temperatures in the north around Nuremberg, while elsewhere hailstorms with grains as big as tennis balls caused an uproar.
At the end of the week it will also be uncomfortable in Bavaria - but at least across the board.
A win?
At least from the perspective that it will be nice all over Bavaria at the weekend.
According to the German Weather Service (DWD), there should be isolated rain showers on Thursday night.
We are talking about local heavy rain.
And: "In the case of stronger thunderstorms, preferably in northern Bavaria, heavy rain up to 40 l/sqm is also likely in small areas," says the weather report.
But it gets really uncomfortable on Friday.

In the warning report on Germany, the DWD writes of the risk of severe weather: "On Friday in the eastern half, severe thunderstorms with heavy rain, hail and gusts of wind are likely." This affects the eastern half of the country.
However, a look at the course of the weather in the YouTube video from

also shows that the same massive rain front previously passed over northern Bavaria and Nuremberg.
Munich is also affected, but probably not as badly.

Weather forecast: Breathe easy at the weekend
Nature will be happy about the rain and people will probably be able to cope with it - because: At the weekend it looks summery.
The DWD speaks of "no significant weather phenomena" for Saturday and Sunday, Jan Schenk announces relatively warm temperatures of around 26 degrees.
Although the very hot values will no longer come to us because the “west winds cut off the desert air”, it will remain summery and pleasant for the time being.
