Many municipalities are currently considering whether there is potential for ground-mounted photovoltaic systems in their area.

Finsing is also looking for suitable areas.

Two areas could come into question.

Finsing

– Numerous municipalities are currently considering whether there is potential for ground-mounted photovoltaic systems in their area.

The city of Dorfen, for example, is changing the land use plan in order to implement solar power fields on agricultural land, including on the A 94.

The municipality of Finsing is also looking for suitable areas.

Two areas could come into question.

As Mayor Max Kressirer (WGE) explained in the municipal council, the committee has already dealt with the topic in its retreat.

The Transport, Environment and Energy Committee has now drawn up proposals.

Managing director Helmut Fryba explained that there are certain regulations according to which photovoltaic systems should be developed in open spaces.

So there are so-called positive and negative areas.

The latter includes "everything that is very valuable in nature".

Positive areas, on the other hand, are, for example, unused industrial areas, fallow areas, areas connected to main roads, areas in connection with noise protection systems or areas under high-voltage lines.

Open-space photovoltaic systems: Two areas in Finsing seem suitable

"With that in mind, the committee scanned the community and saw two areas in which to try to develop such facilities," Fryba said.

Specifically, it is about an area under the high-voltage line on Erdinger Straße directly after the bridge over the Mittlere-Isar Canal, which the municipality recently bought, as well as the southern area of the noise protection wall on the Pfarrpfründe construction area in Neufinsing, south of the Pfarrer-Johann- Beck-Wegs.

For the area on the Isar Canal, Kressirer pointed out that "it is in a depression".

It must therefore first be examined by experts to see whether it is at all interesting in terms of yield.

That is exactly what Franz Keimeleder doubted.

"In the afternoon, the shade of the trees along the canal covers more than half of the area," said the FWF Council.

He therefore finds a PV system there "absolutely pointless" and said: "It doesn't pay off, you can see at first glance that it's uninteresting.

You can save yourself the work.”

The rest of the council disagreed.

Against Keimeleder's vote, it was decided to at least have it checked whether both proposed plots of land would be suitable for open-space photovoltaic systems.

The possible yield should also be calculated.

No solar park near Strampfbach

However, the committee does not want to pursue the possibility of installing a solar park on an area near Strampfbach and Großsenderstraße.

As Kressirer reported, the community was offered an area of around 40 hectares for this purpose.

However, the committee had already agreed not to change this ecologically very valuable area.

Comment: Corona is now a private matter

“It is one of the most beautiful areas that we have in the municipal area.

I'm actually very much in favor of photovoltaic systems, but I would be against paving something like that," explained environmental officer Bernhard Faschinger (independent).

He understands that, says Keimeleder.

"In terms of yield, however, this area would be much better suited than that on the canal."
