The move of the Waldramer fifth graders is discussed controversially.

Parents from Münsing and Waldram are appealing to the city council to reverse the decision.

Wolfratshausen/Münsing - Shortly before the city council meeting on Tuesday, the parents' council of the elementary and middle school in Waldram said it "learned from the newspaper" that the elected representatives did not make a decision to move the future fifth graders from Waldram to the middle school on Hammerschmiedweg.

Instead, it was "unfortunately just an information event" with a view to the decision made by the city council's culture committee in May (we reported).

Parents' councils write to Wolfratshausen city council: "Our middle school is bleeding out"

In an open letter that the parents' council emailed to the head of the town hall and all elected officials before the meeting, the chairperson of the parents' council, Stephanie Hanna-Necker, emphasises: "The parents' council of the elementary and middle school in Waldram wants to work for the entire school family, and we support the parents' initiative, which is for the upcoming 5th grade at the middle school in Waldram." Hanna-Necker emphasizes that a "great school family" has been built up in Waldram in recent years, which in view of the decision to centralize the fifth middle school classes on Hammerschmiedweg "is now being torn apart". .

Hanna-Necker: "Every gap in a year leads to our middle school bleeding dry."

Fifth classes at Hammerschmiedweg - the parents' council wants to keep Waldramer in Waldram

Due to the elimination of the fifth grade in the coming school year in Waldram, "the coupling class of the upcoming sixth grade would be missing in the cross-class lessons - for example sports boys/girls", the parents' council points out.

And: "The teaching hours for the sixth grade would still be incurred, so we do not see any savings in teaching hours."

Münsinger parents write to the city council of Wolfratshausen: "Would destroy years of work at once"

The parents' council of the Münsing primary school also wrote an open letter.

Chairwoman Katharina Wohlfarter said they were "irritated that we were not included in the considerations".

After all, the Waldram middle school is the district school for the Münsing inclusion primary school.

Wohlfahrter: "At our elementary school we have many inclusion children who, after an intensive four-year care period, are allowed to attend the next school."

According to Wohlfarter, "restructuring" would "suddenly destroy the years of work that we have been doing in Münsing".

For some inclusion children it is “a problem

The rector of the Hammerschmiedschule, Frank Schwesig, who is also the coordinator of the Isar-Loisach middle school network, emphasized at the city council meeting that the inclusion students from Münsing in Wolfratshausen did not have to fear any disadvantages.

The college has a lot of experience due to existing cooperation classes, and the school psychological service is also a great support.

Schwesig: "From my point of view, the children are in really good hands with us."

Waldram school has been renovated - there is a construction site in Wolfratshausen

What Wohlfarter (like Hanna-Necker) cannot understand: Why is the renovated Waldramer school “not used for a single-stream middle school with enough teachers”, but rather send the children “rather to a construction site”?

As reported, the elementary and middle school on Hammerschmiedweg is expected to be completely renovated and expanded by 2027.

In the eyes of the Münsingen Parents' Council, the city center location has "a very high focal point potential".

The teachers are already "sufficiently busy with the previous number of students" - an "additional classes with not much more available teachers" is definitely not a relief.

Conclusion: "Münsinger parents don't want to send the children to Wolfratshausen, but to Waldram." For the "well-being of the children", Wohlfarter appeals to the city council to revise the decision of the culture committee.
