Tonight (Saturday), Prime Minister Yair Lapid will issue a statement to the media, for the first time since taking office.
In his opening remarks, Lapid thanked his predecessor in office, Naftali Bennett.
"Israel is more important than any of us, Israel is a large, strong and prosperous democratic state," he said.
"In most important issues we believe in the same things, we believe that Israel should be a liberal democracy that every citizen has the right to choose the path of his life."
"The political space has become more and more extreme, violent and vicious, and it is dragging Israeli society after it. We must stop this," he read.
He mentioned the Abrahamic agreements and said, "There is a great blessing in these agreements and in the agreements that are yet to come."

Lapid, who has so far served as the deputy prime minister, officially took office at midnight between Thursday and Friday, after the outgoing prime minister, Bennett, handed over the post.
