A man in Shui Chuen O Village, Shatin, was arrested for attacking a 60-year-old man with a toy gun.

At about 3 pm today (2nd), the police received a report that a man in his 30s had a dispute with an elderly woman while eating in a restaurant on the second floor of the upper address.

A male diner about 60 years old came forward to mediate upon seeing this, but an argument broke out between the two sides.

The man suddenly took out a suspected gun-shaped object and attacked a man about 60 years old, during which he even kicked the opponent's knee. Seeing this, the neighbors at the scene jointly subdued the attacking man.

The police rushed to the scene after receiving the report. After examination, they believed that the man was holding a toy long gun. The man was then arrested for assault causing bodily harm (AOABH), possession of an offensive weapon and possession of an imitation firearm.

Two people involved in the incident were injured. The arrested man suffered head injuries, bruises on his face and hands, as well as swollen eyes, while the attacked man suffered injuries to his feet.

Police are investigating the cause of the man's attack.

At the scene, at least one submachine gun, a magazine and a damaged black super were left on the ground. Several BB bullets were also scattered on the ground. The police blocked the scene to collect evidence.
