The Marxist group "Mujahideen Part" has announced that its men are behind the attack on the basis of the Basij militia in the Iranian capital • Iran has arrested two Belgian citizens and demands the release of a convicted terrorist imprisoned in the country

The Shadow War in Iran: The Marxist opposition organization "Mujahideen Halk" claimed responsibility today (Saturday) for a large-scale explosion that took place at the Malik Eshtar Basij militia base in the capital Tehran.

The organization, which has been operating within Iran since the establishment of the Islamic Republic in 1979, has in the past, according to foreign sources, collaborated with Israeli intelligence and assisted in carrying out assassinations of senior members of the regime.

The Basij militia is the arm for the suppression of a civilian uprising by its revolutionary guard and its people are especially hated among the opposition.

Opposition-affiliated media reported today a major explosion that took place at the Iranian Revolutionary Guards base "Malik Eshtar" outside the capital Tehran.

The blast reportedly occurred last week, on the night between Monday and Tuesday, and was caused by a deliberate sabotage.

No injuries or damage were reported.

Surfers on social media in the country posted a video in which the explosion was seen and heard.

In addition, surfers claimed to have heard the explosion and saw strong flashes.

Officials in Iran did not comment on the incident, but the telegram channels affiliated with the Revolutionary Guards reported extensively on the explosion and even hinted that it was an Israeli operation.

Meanwhile, the news site Iran International reported that two Belgian citizens had been arrested by Iranian police.

The report states that Etzad was taken in response to the news that Belgium was considering allowing the transfer of Asdullah Assadi, an Iranian convicted in the country and sentenced to prison, to the Islamic Republic.
