The Palestinian detainee, Saadia Matar, was martyred today in Damoun detention center as a result of the deliberate medical neglect policy pursued by the Israeli occupation authorities against the prisoners.
The spokesman for the Palestinian Prisoners Club, Amjad Najjar, said in a statement to Ma'an News Agency that 68-year-old Matar was martyred this morning in the Damoun detention center, indicating that she was suffering from several diseases and that the prisoners' institutions submitted more than one request to the occupation authorities to allow her to see a doctor, but these requests It was rejected.
Najjar pointed out that Matar's death is a result of the deliberate medical negligence pursued by the occupation against the prisoners, calling on the international human rights and humanitarian authorities to intervene urgently to save the lives of sick prisoners from the occupation's prisons.
The captive Saadia Matar is the oldest female prisoner in the occupation’s prisons, and its forces arrested her near the Ibrahimi Mosque in the center of Hebron in December 2021, and she is the mother of eight children.
The occupation authorities continue to detain 29 Palestinian women in Damoun detention center, the oldest of whom is the captive Maysoon Musa, who has been detained since 2015.
