With the work of the writer and playwright Mamdouh Adwan, one of the pillars of theater in Syria, the Monodrama Theater Festival in its second session closed in Hama its curtain.. the session during which he presented nine performances for teams from Hama, Homs, Aleppo and Damascus.
The final performance, titled “Resurrection,” was presented by the Ghassan Kanafani Cultural Forum on the stage of the Arab Cultural Center in Hama, and it is a denunciation of Arab dictatorships that stabbed the Palestinian cause in the back.
The director and actor of the show, Hussein Arab, pointed out, in a statement to Sana Al-Thaqafiya, that the show narrates special stories and details that intertwine them with successive transitions through questions or monologues to the moon and the grave in a whisper at our neighborhood and by singing with templates of black comedy and bitter irony that are in line with the spirit of the play.
He considered the festival an opportunity for convergence between artists and writers and between the actor and the audience, which is the basis of the show, stressing that theatrical art is one of the most important arts because it shows the real potential of the actor.
Muammar al-Saadi, head of the Hama Artists Syndicate, said that the festival is an important artistic arena for all theater lovers to present their artistic productions, hoping that theater will remain alive for future generations.
Director of Hama Culture Sami Taha pointed out that six days of creativity experienced by the city of Hama through 9 diverse theatrical performances woven by playwrights who loved the stage, noting the importance of partnership between the Directorate of Culture, the National Theater and the Artists Syndicate to reach distinct artistic, intellectual and cultural results.
