The youth fire brigade Hohenbrunn celebrates its 50th birthday this Saturday.
In all this time, a young talent has repeatedly developed into a real manager.
Hohenbrunn
- "Youth fire brigade is more than many believe." With this slogan, the Hohenbrunn fire brigade promotes its own youth work.
And that on the one hand very successfully and on the other hand for a long time.
The youth fire brigade is 50 years old.
The emergency services are celebrating this anniversary this Saturday.
On the initiative of the then commander Arno Schmidt, a youth fire brigade was founded in the summer of 1972.
From the very beginning, the Hohenbrunners attached great importance to the young firefighters – today there are also young women – being integrated into the active team.
They often carried out exercises and excursions together in order to strengthen togetherness and to prevent boundaries between young people and active people from emerging in the first place.

Since then, the military has trained around 250 young people.
Many who were once in the youth fire brigade are now leaders of the fire brigade, including Commander Robert Paul.
He joined the youth fire brigade in 1989.
And from the squad from 1972, Leonhard Sigl is still active and currently chairman of the fire brigade association.
He was also formerly the second youth fire brigade warden.
On the occasion of the 125th anniversary in 1986, the fire brigade organized a competition with neighboring fire brigades from the area.
This fell on such fertile ground that it was decided to also organize a competition for the youth groups of the fire brigades in the district.
Since 1990, this has been carried out according to the official guidelines of the German youth fire brigade.

In 1997 the youth fire brigade celebrated its 25th birthday and at the same time held the first youth fire brigade day in the district.
Since then, the youth competition has been coupled with the district youth fire brigade day and is held in changing municipalities.
For many years, the Hohenbrunn youth fire brigade was unbeatable in the first places.
A report in the chronicle of the 25th anniversary shows how much fighting spirit, passion and perseverance there was at times: “The international youth competition in 1990 in Osterhofen will probably be remembered for a long time.
First, a substitute had to step in for a youngster.
When another injured his hand during training shortly before the start, it almost meant the end for the Hohenbrunn team.
But the latter gritted his teeth and persevered.
The anniversary will be duly celebrated this Saturday at the district youth fire brigade day from 12.30 p.m. at the Hohenbrunn fire brigade equipment house.
Teams from the entire district compete in a competition. Visitors are cordially invited to watch and get an idea of the youth and the fire brigade.
