A 10-year-old girl who became pregnant in Ohio in the United States was forced to leave the state to have an abortion - following the entry into force of the Abortion Act, which the United States Supreme Court ordered last week.

The girl was admitted to the state of Indiana, where abortions are currently banned from week 22 of pregnancy, unlike Ohio, where they have been banned since week 6.

The medical staff who agreed to treat the girl, who was one of many species, described a steady stream of patients coming from out of state for treatment.

Dr. Caitlin Bernard, the gynecologist who treated the child, told the Indiana media that just three days after the federal right to abortion was revoked, a doctor from Ohio called her to ask for her help in treating the 10-year-old, who could no longer receive treatment in her state.

However, the situation in Indiana may also change due to the intent of state politicians to update local legislation regarding abortion.

The Republicans, who represent the majority in the country, intend to further restrict the procedure in its territory.

"It is hard to believe that in a few weeks we will not be able to provide this treatment," Dr. Bernard said.
