These pictures are intended to show a Russian breach of word.

According to the Ukrainian army chief, a Russian attack on Snake Island with phosphorus bombs can be seen here.

The Russian troops only withdrew from the island on Thursday, according to their own statements voluntarily, as a sign of goodwill.

Igor Konashenko, spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry:

"We have shown the international community that Russia does not hinder UN efforts to build a humanitarian corridor for the export of agricultural products.

The decision means Kyiv can no longer speculate about a looming food crisis or say it's impossible to export grain because Russia has complete control of the north-western Black Sea.”

But there were doubts about that even before the alleged attack, because the island in the Black Sea is too strategically important for that.

For example, Russia has been accused of blocking Ukrainian ports with the help of its position on the island, thus hindering the export of grain - and building up massive pressure.

The Ukrainian President did not speak of a voluntary withdrawal of the Russians, but of liberation and an important victory.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine:

»Snake Island is a strategically important place.

This changes the situation in the Black Sea significantly.

That doesn't guarantee security, and it doesn't guarantee that the enemy won't come back.

But it fundamentally limits the actions of the occupiers.

Step by step, we will oust them from our seas, from our land and from our air.«

The authenticity of the most recent images has not yet been independently verified.

But if the attack took place like this, it means: The fight for the snake island continues.
