The woman suspected of the murder of professional cyclist Anna Moriah "Mo" Wilson in Texas in May, was apprehended in Costa Rica, the United States Marshal Service reported Thursday.

Caitlin Marie Armstrong, 34, was found at a hotel on Santa Terrace Beach, according to a press release.

It will be closed and returned to the United States.

Armstrong was wanted in connection with the May 11 shooting at Wilson, who had previously dated her partner - 35-year-old cyclist Colin Strickland.

Investigators believe it was a murder out of jealousy.

On May 17, police issued an order for Armstrong stating that a car similar to the suspect's was seen in Austin, Texas, near the house where Wilson was staying before her body was found.

A spokesman for the Immigration Administration told CNN that Armstrong is "in extradition."

According to authorities, the extradition process could take 30 days.

Strickland told American Stateman that "there is no way to properly explain the remorse and suffering I feel about my connection to this horrific crime. I'm sorry, I just can not understand how it happened."

Wilson was staying at a friend's home in Austin, Texas, preparing for a bike race in Hico, where she was shot several times, according to an affidavit of arrest filed in Travis County Court.

The affidavit describes how the victim and the suspect recently had a romantic relationship with the same man - Strickland - and details text messages and interviews that reveal that jealousy may be the motive for the murder.

On the day of the murder, Wilson told a friend she was staying with that she was going to swim with Strickland, according to the affidavit - information Strilkand confirmed.

The two ate dinner before Strickland dropped Wilson off at the company house.

He did not go in with her.

Austin police arrived at the home later, after 10 p.m., and found Wilson's friend performing CPR on her.

Wilson sustained several shots, and officers saw "cartridges on the floor" but no weapons.

Wilson's death was determined at the scene.

Identified at an airport in New York.

According to Austin police, "the shooting did not appear to be an accident."

Authorities have identified Armstrong, with whom Sterland lives in Austin, as the prime suspect in the death.

An arrest affidavit mentions a video obtained by investigators showing a vehicle similar to that of Armstrong near the house where Wilson was staying shortly after her death.

A ballistic test revealed that it is possible that the weapon that Strickland recently purchased for Armstrong was the weapon in which Wilson was shot.

Wilson, or "Mo" according to her friends, used to surf thousands in college but switched to cycling after graduating.

Strickland told police she was considered one of the best bike riders in the world, and won a series of races in California this spring.

In his statement, Strickland said he had a brief relationship with Wilson in October after the two ended previous relationships.

Strickland and Armstrong later reconciled and renewed their relationship.

The relationship with Wilson has become "professional and platonic," Strickland told police.

However, he added that he tried to hide his relationship with Wilson from Armstrong by changing the name of the cyclist on his phone and deleting the messages she sent him.

Armstrong contacted Wilson several times and warned her to "stay away" from Strickland, one of Wilson's friends told investigators.
