68-year-old cyclist in danger of death after traffic accident

A cyclist suffered life-threatening injuries in a traffic accident in Bad Laer in the Osnabrück district.
According to the first findings of the police, the 68-year-old stopped briefly on a street on Saturday evening, but then ignored the right of way and crossed the road, as the authority announced on Sunday.
He collided with a car.
Bad Laer – The 22-year-old driver of the car tried to brake and dodge, but could not prevent the collision.
The man was taken to hospital by rescue helicopter with serious injuries, and he was still in mortal danger on Sunday morning.
The driver and her two passengers were not injured.
The public prosecutor's office confiscated the car and bicycle.
A blood sample was also taken from the 68-year-old because there was a suspicion of alcohol influence.
