Kreuth – Nets to protect against falling rocks will be renewed on the B307 near Wildbad Kreuth from Monday.
The Rosenheim State Building Authority discovered damage there.
Road safety always comes first.
For this reason, the networks to protect against rockfalls on federal and state roads are inspected every year and comprehensively checked every five years, explains the Rosenheim State Building Authority.
If deficiencies are identified, action is taken.
This is also the case on the B307 near Wildbad Kreuth.
There, the authorities found damage to the safety structures, which are now being removed.
Repair work on the nets will begin on Monday, July 4th.
Approximately two weeks are estimated for this.
Essentially, as part of the measure, almost 500 square meters of anchored steel wire mesh will be renewed in order to ensure the safety of the federal highway below for the next few years.
A specialist company from high mountain construction was commissioned to do this.
This restores the networks partly from the street and partly in safety ropes.
This can lead to brief traffic obstructions on the main road.
In total, the measure costs almost 100,000 euros.
These come from federal funds from the Free State of Bavaria.
In addition to maintaining around 1,000 engineering structures along federal and state roads –
including bridges, retaining walls, noise protection walls, but also special structures such as rainwater retention basins
–
the Rosenheim State Building Authority is
also responsible for maintaining safety structures against natural hazards.
The latter include structures to protect roads from rockfall, avalanche and flood events.
