Sachsenkam – The “Gaigastoana” celebrated their 100th birthday.
Numerous associations from the neighboring villages traveled to the anniversary to attend the field service.
When Upper Bavaria's Trachtler parade, the streets are usually lined with enthusiastic visitors.
Not so in Sachsenkam, where the traditional costumers of Gaigastoana celebrated their 100th anniversary last Sunday with everything that goes with it: church procession, field service and a subsequent procession through the village.
Eleven traditional costume associations and ten music bands from the region
"It's easy for us to explain.
If the other five Sachsenkamer village associations march along with the traditional costume association, then there are hardly any people left to watch,” explained Trachtler board member Peter Nöscher jun.
A total of eleven neighboring traditional costume associations from the region came with their delegations to the anniversary and another ten bands and marching bands.
Consecration of the restored club flag from 1959
Dean Thomas Neuberger celebrated the service for the Trachtler anniversary in glorious weather.
This also included the rededication of the completely restored club flag from 1959 and a new flag ribbon to commemorate the club's 100th anniversary.
In the recent recent past, primarily only the founding flag from 1923 was still in use.
However, after time had not left its mark on the flag from 1959 either, the entire flag cloth had to be replaced, only the embroidered motifs were preserved.
After a minute's silence for the recently deceased former mayor of Sachsenkam, Max Gast, Mayor Andreas Rammler, patron of the celebrations, conveyed his congratulations.
At the time, there was concern that the traditional customs that had led to the founding of the traditional costume association would die out.

Today, the costumers of the modern throwaway society with their throw-away mentality would oppose a culture of mindfulness in which the traditional values for the community were preserved.
"Even if there is already an app 'How to learn Schuhplattler', there's nothing like plattering with friends in the community," emphasized the mayor.

The Plattler board, who addressed the young people in traditional costume, came to the same conclusion: “They were always energetic and there in large numbers.
Regardless of whether it was about setting up the marquee or converting it for the various events.”
Nöscher was satisfied with the Sachsenkamer Festwoche: "There could have been a few more visitors at the Tanzlmusi meeting." End.
