Damascus, SANA- The work of the Fourth Conference of Syrian Researchers in Damascus will start tomorrow, Monday, at the Al-Assad National Library in Damascus

The work of the fourth conference for Syrian researchers at home and abroad for 2022, organized by the Supreme Commission for Scientific Research in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Syrian Virtual University and the Arab School for Science and Technology, will start tomorrow, Monday, at the Al-Assad National Library in Damascus, under the title “Towards a knowledge economy… the role of Syrian researchers in the homeland.” and expatriate.”

In a statement to SANA today, the Director-General of the Supreme Commission for Scientific Research, Dr. Majd Al-Jamali, explained the importance of the conference, which stems from being an opportunity and an effective tool to build bridges of communication and support them between researchers in universities and research centers inside the country with Syrian researchers and experts after the expansion of the geography in which they are spread.

In this, the conference gives everyone the opportunity, according to Al-Jamali, to contribute to finding technological solutions to the problems that have been exacerbated by the war and the economic blockade in several areas, including the technology of alternative energies, and to study ways of gradually shifting towards a knowledge-based economy that is synonymous with the Syrian economy that depends on natural resources.

The themes of the three-day conference sessions focus on information and communication technology, smart systems, alternative energies technology, biotechnology, nanotechnology, environmental technology and its challenges, knowledge and its role in strengthening the national economy, in addition to the presentations of companies and the private sector.

The conference will be attended by Syrian researchers from inside the country and Syrian expatriates in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, India, the Russian Federation, China, Germany, Japan, the United States of America, Britain, Spain, France, Switzerland and Sweden.
