Today, the Cooperative Agricultural Bank in Sweida began disbursing the values of the second batch of wheat prices delivered by farmers to the branch of the Public Corporation for Seed Multiplication.
The director of the bank, Engineer Naseem Hudaifa, explained in a statement to SANA reporter today that the value of the payment amounts to 286 million Syrian pounds, and it is added to the first payment that was disbursed with a value exceeding 300 million pounds, indicating that its disbursement is made according to the tables received from the Foundation for Seed Propagation in the names of the farmers who benefit from it, after deducting the debt due. They have to face the bank, if any.
On the other hand, the Agricultural Bank branch continues to exchange the prices of wheat delivered by farmers to the grain receiving center, indicating that the value of the disbursed amounts amounted to about 700 million pounds, in an easy way and without delay.
Regarding the quantity of propagated wheat received from the farmers of As-Suwayda, the director of the branch of the General Organization for Seed Propagation in the governorate, Eng. Solaf Al-Saad, indicated that it has reached about 361 tons to date, pointing to the continuation of receiving operations and transferring the prices to the Agricultural Bank for the benefit of the farmers, respectively.
As for the quantity of wheat supplied to the Syrian Grain Corporation in the governorate, it has reached 700 tons so far, according to the director of the Corporation’s office in As-Suwayda, Engineer Youssef Wehbe, noting that work is continuing to receive farmers to deliver their crop of mixed wheat within the farm and dogma center at the Umm al-Zaytoun mill site.
The total harvestable area in As-Suwayda for the current season exceeds more than 70,000 dunams.
