The new Secretary for the Civil Service, Mrs Yeung Ho Pei-yin, went to the Central Command Centre of the New Crown Vaccination Programme and the Community Vaccination Centre of Kwun Chung Sports Centre this morning (3rd) to inspect the recovery of the vaccination centres after the typhoon hit Hong Kong.
Yang He Beiyin pointed out that the number of confirmed cases has remained high recently, and urged the public to receive the next dose of the vaccine on time, especially those aged 60 or above should receive the fourth dose of the vaccine as soon as possible.
Yang He Beiyin said that the government will continue to provide the public with free new crown vaccination services, and encourage the public to get vaccinated in a timely manner, and the "home vaccination service" specially designed for the elderly and people with special needs is also being fully implemented.
She pointed out that the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 has remained high recently. Since the protective power of vaccines will decline over time, the public should pay attention to the time interval between vaccine doses recommended by experts and receive the next dose of vaccine on time, especially those aged 60 or above. People should get the fourth dose of the vaccine as soon as possible to strengthen the protection of the vaccine and protect themselves to reduce the risk of severe illness and death once infected. Citizens should be vaccinated in due course.”
