The Palestinian university Bir Zeit awarded a final certificate to the terrorist Zechariah Zabeidi this weekend after she claimed to have completed a master's degree.

Zabeidi has been in solitary confinement and close monitoring since his escape from Gilboa Prison last year and the study materials are not accessible to him, like the other security prisoners who are not allowed to study academically.

This follows a decision made in 2011 by the IPS, and approved even after appeals submitted to the High Court.

On Friday, a graduation ceremony was held for students at Bir Zeit University in the Palestinian Authority, and during the festive event, the participants were informed that the terrorist Zakaria Zabeidi also graduated from prison with a master's degree.

Also presented was Zbeidi's final thesis, which dealt - under the title "The Hunter and the Dragon" - with the experience of a Palestinian persecuted under Israeli rule.

Zbeidi's brother, Yahya, said he was informed of receiving the degree, and that the announcement raised his and the other security prisoners' morale.
