The Rosenheim district office reports a successful deployment of the hail flyers.

The final effect: more hailstones are formed, but smaller ones, which thaw on their way to the ground and fall as rain.
On Thursday evening there was a strong thunderstorm complex on the way to the Inn Valley.
What kind of damage this can cause only became apparent at the beginning of the week, when hailstones the size of hens' eggs fell over parts of Bavaria, or on Thursday in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, which was colored white by hail the size of a table tennis ball.
The district office of Rosenheim has now reported a successful fight against the thunderstorm cell over the district.

In the afternoon, the hail flyers rose from the airfield in Vogtareuth "to start vaccination of the thunderstorm complex near Lenggries," the district office said.

"When we reached the Inn Valley, there was only heavy rain," says the district office happily.
The operation was completed after two hours, no major hailstorms were recorded over the Inn Valley
