The most prominent literary stations and excerpts from the poetic production of the poet Hamid Hassan, the focus of the symposium organized by the Directorate of Culture in Tartous Governorate, in cooperation with the branch of the Arab Writers Union, on the stage of the Arab Cultural Center in the city on the 23rd anniversary of his death under the title “Oak of Poetry”.

The head of the Arab Writers Union branch in the governorate, Munther Issa, stressed in his speech the great literary status of the late Hassan, so that this symposium would confirm his presence in the cultural scene as a whole.

He pointed out that the Arab Writers Union stresses the importance of honoring writers, noting the union’s decision to reprint the book of the late Hamid Hassan, “Poetry with Structure and Anatomy,” issued by the Unity Foundation in 1987.

In which he presented the good patriotic and poetic jihadi position of Sheikh Al-Ali, as well as a reading of his book “Face to Face with History” in addition to his reading in the book “Poetry, Structure and Anatomy.”

The poet Osama Mihoub spoke about the beginnings of the poet Hassan in the forties of the last century, considering that what distinguishes the good writing of the prose poem, even if he has writings in poetry, investigation and history, indicating that he followed the good writing style with more than one name in the Renaissance magazine, which he founded with the poet Wajih Mohi Al-Din and his literary and critical participation in Al-Qithara magazine, which was published in Lattakia, referring to some of the readings that Hassan presented on Sufism among Al-Makzoun Al-Sinjari, who is considered one of the statures and public figures with a religious and social presence.

The poet Mahmoud Habib also provided highlights about the poetic and prose writing of the late great and talked about the morality and humanity of the poet Hassan and his rich poetic distinction, as the young poet Ali Issa read an anthology of poetry and patriotism by the poet Hassan as a poem of the Tishreen Maker.

It is noteworthy that Hamid Hassan hails from the Drakeish region, born in 1909 and his death in 1999. He has a variety of literary and critical prose poetry publications. He was the first head of the Writers Union branch in Tartous, a member of the Poetry Association and a member of the Supreme Council of Arts. He worked in the field of education for 18 years and founded with the late Wajih Mohieldin a magazine Renaissance in Tartous in 1938.
