Two Israeli families were injured today (Sunday) in a water sports accident in Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt.
A 14-year-old boy was fatally injured, his mother was 46 in critical condition and his 53-year-old father was moderately injured in a banana activity they did at the scene.
They were flown in PassportCard ambulance planes to Israel for further medical treatment.
Two weeks ago, an Israeli tourist drowned in Sharm el-Sheikh in the southern Sinai Peninsula.
The tourist - Orit Peled, 49, from Pardesiya - lives there with her husband.
The Foreign Ministry assisted in the transfer of her body, which arrived in Israel.
Orit's husband said that she used to go to Sharm at least three times a year.
"She really loved diving and traveling the world," he said.
"She has been diving for 25 years and despite the epilepsy she was not willing to give up diving. She was responsible and always dived with a guide."
He also said that they went on vacation with friends.
"This is the second time I have joined her," he said.
"We went to the beach and dived with snorkels. She wanted me to come in with her and see what she was so excited about and I was scared but I wanted to please her. After a few minutes I had a hard time so I went out and she wanted to continue.
