【22:54】暹芭風球來襲，本港由今（1日）傍晚起懸掛八號東南烈風或暴風信號。《香港01》記者晚上到水浸黑點鯉魚門視察，大部分商舗已落閘關門，現場感受風勢並不強烈，岸邊有沙包堆積，增設鐵欄。食環署及渠務署職員分別到場巡邏，視察有否出現海水倒灌、水浸情況。

暹芭風球｜38人入住臨時庇護中心避風 託管、長者中心暫停開放
【22:32】天文台今晚（1日）7時宣布改發8號風球，民政事務總署表示，會為有需要臨時住宿人士開放臨時庇護中心。當局表示，至目前為止，各區共開放25個臨時庇護中心，共有38人入住。
社會福利署亦宣布，通常於星期日及公眾假期運作的轄下福利服務單位、提供課餘託管服務的中心及長者服務中心，已暫停開放。衞生署亦表示，所有通常於星期日及公眾假期運作的衞生署診所均會關閉。

【22:23】杏花邨海旁愈夜愈大浪，十次海浪拍岸時，有五次都有海浪「爆」上岸，有穿了雨衣的追風市民，特別走近岸邊，感受海岸拍向身。
一批民安隊更特別到來，勸喻觀浪市民遠離海邊，並用電筒照向防波堤石頭，看看是否有人站在「最前線」觀浪。

【22:05】將於明日（2日）向公眾開放的香港故宮文化博物館公布，因應今天不穩定天氣，館方建議已預約於明日入場參觀的持票人士留意以下安排：
8號或以上熱帶氣旋警告信號：
• 如8號警告信號在博物館開館時間（即早上10時）前兩小時懸掛或仍然懸掛，博物館將不會於原定時間開放。若警告信號於稍後時間取消，博物館將會在信號取消三小時內開放。若警告信號取消時間距離博物館閉館時間不足四小時，博物館將不會開放。
• 以7月2日為例，博物館在星期六的閉館時間為晚上8時，如8號警告信號於下午4時前仍未取消，博物館將不會開放。
• 如8號警告信號在開館後才懸掛，博物館將會即時關閉。

【20:30】八號風球已懸掛逾一小時，杏花邨的風力明顯較尖沙咀海旁強烈，據風速計所示，最高風速高逾每小時30公里；海面不時捲起湧浪，並有大浪拍打上岸。
仍有不少杏花邨居民在晚飯後到海傍散步，順道觀浪。有居民則提到，居於杏花邨多年，經歷多次打風，現時的海浪仍算「好弱」，不過見有浪拍打上岸，打算再散步便回家。

【19:53】強烈熱帶風暴「暹芭」逼近，天文台今日（1日）發出今年首個8號風球。天文台在暹芭生成時，預計僅達熱帶風暴級別，不過最後卻「大跌眼镜」，料明日（2日）增強為颱風。天文台解釋有兩因素令暹芭發展超預期，指出現時南海北部水溫高，以及垂直風切變弱，亦有利暹芭增強。
天文台前助理台長梁榮武表示，由於暹芭的雨帶集中在中心，今早與本港距離較遠，故影響不大；隨着暹芭愈來愈近，故本港開始「橫雨橫雨」。至於暹芭增強程度不似預期，梁同樣指由於現時南海溫度夠，有條件讓暹芭增強。

澳門氣象局：改發八號風球機會中等
澳門地球物理暨氣象局今早表示，強烈熱帶風暴暹芭將向西北方向移動，大致趨向廣東西部至海南島一帶，料今日下午至晚間改發八號風球的可能性屬中等。由於預料受菲律賓以東的另一低壓區發展所影響，其強度及路徑未來仍存在較大變數，如暹芭採取較偏北路徑更接近澳門或於近岸加強，屆時不排除改發更高風球的機會。按澳門預測路徑，暹芭明日（2日）將升級成颱風。
由於未來數日正值天文大潮，澳門今日早上至中午內港一帶會出現輕微水浸，而在疊加風暴潮及持續降雨影響下，預測明日早上至中午內港一帶會出現約0.5米以下的水浸。
