The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs renewed its call on the international community to intervene urgently to stop the Judaization excavations carried out by the Israeli occupation under and around Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Foreign Ministry indicated in a statement today, carried by Wafa Agency, that these excavations target the foundations of the mosque and falsify its features above the ground and in its interior, and poses a great danger, especially to the mosque located under the Qibli prayer hall, which cracks appeared in its walls and stones fell from its columns during the past days.
The Foreign Ministry condemned the occupation authorities’ prevention of the Palestinian Ministry of Endowments to restore the mosque and to send a specialized technical team to examine the excavations around the southern wall and their effects on Al-Aqsa’s buildings, walls and columns, stressing the need for the international community and the relevant UN organizations to break their silence towards the occupation’s ongoing excavations for decades, and to oblige the occupation authorities to preserve the historical situation.
