The stands were so busy that the visitors could count on a waiting time of at least half an hour.

But in this case it was worth it.

A sensational number of newcomers and people from the surrounding area spent happy hours at the main street festival, like in a Midsummer Night's Dream.

Neubiberg

- Vibrant party life and the longing for joyful distraction in difficult times can sometimes be expressed in meters.

It's 440 meters between the S-Bahn and the church, where the traditional Neubiberg main street festival takes place when it's summer and everyone wants to party in the open air.

Partying is such a thing these days.

But thousands of newcomers and guests from the region did not want to worry about omnipresent headache topics such as rising gas and living costs, the horrific war in Ukraine or possible corona aggravations when the all-time visitor record was at least a few hours the days are getting shorter again.

Strong live music

Temporarily traffic calmed, the Neubiberg main traffic axis, which otherwise groaned under increasing traffic load, was transformed into a haven of joy and lived togetherness for a good eight hours.

The local trade association, as the organizer of the usually annual party, which was recently severely thinned out due to the pandemic, had mixed together an extensive potpourri.

Clubs and performances, itinerant traders and the local retail trade all came together - but above all spiced up with strong live music and plenty of delicacies.

The frontman of the festival

At some point in the early evening, Thomas Bräuer looks at the hustle and bustle with a smile and a little pensive.

Since the beginning of June, the native of Heppenheim, as the newly elected chairman of the Neubiberg trade association, has been something of the main person responsible and "frontman" of the main street festival.

"It's nice when all the effort pays off.

Right now, people need such little islands of joy,” admits the married father of two with a clear view of what is happening.

"Without joy and passion, such a voluntary position is not feasible," admits the insurance specialist with his own local agency, who would like to see even more participants in the future and is looking to other highlights such as the Martini market in October and the Christmas market.

Municipality grants grant

What came about through the close cooperation of the volunteers on and for this day is really something to be proud of.

After all, it was also appreciated by the Neubiberg municipality in the form of a subsidy of a good 10,000 euros.

Freshly strengthened - with a choice of coffee and cake, delicious crêpes and chocolate fruit, crispy churros or hearty ox shredded rolls and fish on a stick - you set off on a round trip through a party mile that was buzzing in the early evening.

Many young visitors in particular compete on the carousel and the throwing booth, in the specially set up football fun park and on the goal wall.

Joy in high summer temperatures.

The little ones can also listen to the storyteller in the cozy inner courtyard.

Fashion from the extensive program on the main street, glass items and a flower raffle make hearts beat faster.

At the wine tasting ahead, faces become even more relaxed as the festive season progresses.

These bands played great

The rockabilly band "Diner 59er", the intention music from "Lazymusic" and DJ Klausi from "Die2" deliver great music - in the middle of the main street.

It's the mix once again that distinguishes this main street festival.

When the volunteer fire brigade explains the First Responder, which hopefully nobody will need on this Saturday either.

When the operators get together with the guests and visitors along the rows of shops for a casual chat or for more intensive conversations, meet friends and families on a walk along the party mile and later in the evening the togetherness intensifies even more intensively.

This is the essence of the main street festival.

440 meters of main street are enough.
