These storms will be punctually intense with possible strong gusts, heavy precipitation sometimes accompanied by a risk of hail

France will be divided, weather side, this Sunday.

This day will begin under a sky that is often largely sunny, even if a few passages of high clouds from the Atlantic may circulate in places, announces Météo France.

A few low clouds will also be present from Brittany to Hauts-de-France, without consequence.

Then clouds will sprout on the reliefs of the Pyrenees, the Massif Central, the Alps and the Jura, the beginnings of a deterioration starting in the afternoon.

This Sunday morning, 22 departments in the south of France, as well as Andorra, were placed on storm yellow alert.

And seven are on yellow alert for a risk of a heat wave.

Clearings on the northern half, the Côte d'Azur and Corsica

The first storms will be triggered locally on an axis going from the Pyrenees to the Alps via the Massif Central then the risk will increase in this same area from the end of the afternoon.

These storms will be punctually intense with possible strong gusts, heavy precipitation sometimes accompanied by a risk of hail.

The northern half as well as the Côte d'Azur and Corsica will stay away from this degradation and will continue to benefit from beautiful clearings.

Night temperatures will drop between 9 and 13 degrees in the northern half, except in Alsace Lorraine where it will be milder, 12 to 15 degrees.

On the southern half, the thermometer will show 13 to 18 degrees, locally higher values, exceeding 20 degrees, on the Mediterranean rim and in Corsica.

Regarding maximum temperatures, a gradient will be well marked from northwest to southeast, from 18 to 20 degrees on the Channel coast to 34 to 38 degrees in the Rhône valley and the Mediterranean basin.
