Yesterday (Saturday), the police thwarted an assassination attempt using a Glock pistol in the village of Ba'ana in the Galilee.

Two suspects were stopped inside a vehicle with a gun and three cartridges full inside.

In addition to two, aged 23 and 29, residents of the Nahaf local council in the Galilee, three other suspects, residents of the village of Ba'ana, were arrested - against the background of the same conflict.

The five suspects will be brought to court today to discuss the police's request to extend their detention.

The assassination was carried out against the background of a shooting incident in the village last Friday.

A 23-year-old resident of the village was fatally wounded by gunfire in his upper body.

He was brought to the Galilee Medical Center by Hayan for medical treatment - but there later the doctors had no choice but to determine his death.

Police were called to the scene and opened an investigation into the case.

Police also said that a vehicle with a weapon suspected of involvement in the incident had been seized and that the background to the case was a conflict between criminals.

Last Friday, the brother of the former head of the Beit Jen council was shot dead in the area of ​​the settlement in the Upper Galilee.

The murdered man is Basam Kablan, 40. Six years ago, his brother, Hussein, was murdered.

Their brother, Bian, was then head of the Beit Jen local council. MDA staff called to the scene provided him with medical treatment, but was eventually forced to determine his death. Another man was seriously injured in the incident, and was taken to hospital unconscious. Police are investigating the circumstances.

Hours after the incident, a 28-year-old man was shot dead in Bana in the Galilee. Blood that has been going on for seven years between two factions of Mabana, and in the incident of the evening, another young man was seriously injured and sought medical treatment.
