Princess Diana has been dead for 25 years. Prince Harry also finds very personal words on the occasion.

In his video message, he reveals that since the death of the Princess of Wales, he has felt reminded of his mother every day, especially by his children.

Montecito – In an emotional video message, Prince Harry (37) lets his feelings run free.

On the official Instagram account of "The Diana Award" he shows how much the legacy of his mother Princess Diana (36, † 1997) lives on in him.

Her voice, he said, is getting louder every day - especially since he is the father of two children.

"Not a day has gone by in the last two and a half decades that I haven't thought about the mark she left not just on me and my brother but on our entire lives," he said.

He admits that his mother gave him the urge to speak up and fight for a better world.

And: "As a husband and a parent, my mother's voice is even stronger in my life"

.

Touching words from a loving son.

His brother Prince William, 40, did not attend the ceremony but instead sent a letter to the winners, writing that his mother was "so proud" of what they had achieved.

Every year, people aged 9 to 25 are honored with the Diana Award for their social commitment and humanitarian work.

Strong words from a brave son who carries on Diana's legacy

The appearance of the second-born son of the current heir to the throne, Prince Charles (73), was all the more open: "I see my mother's legacy when I look at my own children every day.

I know my mother's memory will never fade because I see her spirit in all of you."

So thank you for keeping her fire alive.

In his video message from The Diana Awards, Prince Harry emphatically thanked everyone who "keeps Diana's fire alive".

Prince Harry ended his speech with his mother's impressive appeal, which perhaps also explains a little why he doesn't avoid disputes, be it with his brother Prince William or the rest of the family: "Never give up the idea of that each of you can bring about lasting and much-needed change.

If you take away something from today, please know that no matter who you are, where you come from or what background you come from, you can change our world for the better."
