Once again, a brutal police operation in the USA causes bewilderment:

"Dont move!

stop!

Dont move!

Show your hands, show your hands!"

The African American Jayland Walker is said to have been killed with up to 60 shots during a police operation last week.

Akron, Ohio, police released multiple videos Sunday, dated June 27, the day of the operation.

Daniel Horrigan, Mayor

There is no doubt that the video you have just watched is extremely disturbing and causes a lot of emotions and feelings.

It's shocking and hard to take."

According to the police, the officers wanted to stop the 25-year-old for a traffic offense, but he fled in his car.

When Walker finally got out of his car to continue on foot, police officers fired dozens of shots.

Stephen Mylett, Akron Police Chief

A weapon was found in Mr

Walker's vehicle.

He was unarmed at the time of the shooting.

The exact number of shots fired is not known to us.

Again, this is something the Bureau of Criminal Investigations will find out when examining the evidence.

However, based on the video recordings, I assume that the number is high.

A lot of shots were fired.

And I wouldn't be surprised if the number at the end of the investigation matches the number circulating in the media.

But at the moment we just don't know.«

Eight police officers were directly involved in the operation.

All have been placed on leave while the incident is investigated.

Bobby Dicello, Walker family attorney

»

That's why we're here.

That's why the police chief spoke today.

And that's why I'm speaking to you.

His name is Jayland and he's not a monster.

They want to turn him into a masked monster with a gun.

And we knew that.

But I want to thank the Chief for one thing he said: At the time he was shot, more than 90 or 60 or whatever the incredible number will be, he was unarmed

."

In the United States, deadly police operations of a similar nature occur with sad regularity. Hundreds of people again gathered on the streets of Akron on Sunday and ran to the city hall.

It was the fourth day in a row of peaceful demonstrations against deadly police violence.
