On Sunday, a gust of wind caught a bouncy castle in Gondershausen in Rhineland-Palatinate and lifted the play equipment into the air.
At least five children were seriously injured.
Gondershausen - At a festival on the Gondershausen sports field in Rhineland-Palatinate, there was an accident on Sunday in which a total of nine children were injured, five of them seriously.
As the police announced on Sunday, a bouncy castle was probably hit by a gust of wind during a children's tournament and lifted at least four to five meters into the air.
Several children fell from an estimated height of four meters.
According to the latest police reports, at least five children are seriously injured, and four were flown to clinics in a rescue helicopter.
"The rescue operation is ongoing," said the police.
Several rescue helicopters are on site.
The police seized the bouncy castle.
A children's football tournament was held on the sports field in the community in the Rhein-Hunsrück district south of Koblenz.
