Car crashes into truck: Federal road near Peiting completely blocked until the evening

A serious traffic accident occurred this afternoon on the B472 between the Peiting Ost and Peiting Süd junctions.

A person was seriously injured.

Peiting – As was found out on site, around 4.30 p.m. the driver of a BMW who was traveling in the direction of Hohenpeissenberg lost control of his car for reasons that are still unclear.

The car went into oncoming traffic and crashed sideways into a truck whose driver was still trying to swerve.

The BMW then bounced off the truck and crashed into the right-hand guardrail.

The driver of the BMW suffered life-threatening injuries in the accident.

Paramedics managed to revive the man.

According to the police, he was flown to the accident clinic in Murnau by rescue helicopter.

An expert was ordered to the scene of the accident, the main road remained completely closed until the evening.

Road officials diverted traffic.

At the time of going to press, the police were unable to provide any further information on those involved and the damage to property, the officers were still on site.
