China today renewed a blue alert to face rainstorms in different parts of the country, calling on local governments to adopt the necessary measures.
From today until tomorrow, rainstorms are expected to sweep parts of Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Jiangxi, Hubei, Henan, Anhui and Shandong, with a level of 180 mm, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds, the Xinhua News Agency quoted the China National Meteorological Center as saying today.
The center called on local governments to adopt the necessary measures, check drainage systems in cities, farmlands and fish ponds, and control and direct traffic on flooded roads.
It is noteworthy that China has a bad weather warning system consisting of four levels coded in different colors, with red representing the most severe warning, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
